Our History
The company was founded in 1947 to meet a growing demand for the repair of post-war vehicles by centrifuging copper alloys (Red Metal) as well as babbitt alloys (white metal).
From then on, SAMR Métal Rouge established itself as the original equipment manufacturer for leading French automotive brands such as Peugeot, Citroën, Simca, and Renault, supplying sliding bearings.
Starting in the 1970s, the company reached a critical size, facing, on one hand, the standardization of mass production, and on the other, the adoption of different technologies.
This led the company to pivot towards heavy industry, delivering high value-added parts in single units, small, and medium series, requiring the use of its centrifugal casting technology.
In 2012, SAMR Métal Rouge launched a sister company, embiellage-collector.com, an e-commerce platform dedicated to the Oldtimers vehicle market.
This company acts as the exclusive distributor of SAMR Métal Rouge.
Over the years, the enterprise has expanded its service activities around its core manufacturing business, including expertise, design, on-site interventions, and training in sliding bearings technology.
SAMR Métal Rouge complies with the highest quality requirements, a permanent challenge that the company deals with every day, and is also certified ISO 9001, ISO 45001, and Qualiopi.
